Useful information about our therapeutic process – therapeutic contract between therapist and patient.

What are the Therapeutic Contract and the Therapeutic Relationship?

The therapeutic contract is the foundation for a safe and stable therapeutic environment, creating the ideal conditions for psychological support and growth. Within this framework, the therapist and the patient agree on clear rules and conditions that govern the therapeutic process.

The Importance of the Therapeutic Relationship: The therapeutic relationship is at the core of successful therapy. The quality of the connection between therapist and client plays a decisive role in the progress and effectiveness of the process. Both parties commit to adhering to the initial agreements, ensuring a stable and supportive framework.

Characteristics of a Healthy Therapeutic Relationship

A successful therapeutic relationship is based on the following elements:

  • Acceptance: The patient is accepted without judgment.
  • Trust: An environment of mutual honesty is built.
Clear boundaries: The rules are clear and are followed.
  • Stability and consistency: Consistency reinforces security.
  • Mutual commitment: Both sides work together toward a common goal.
1. Confidentiality and privacy:
Everything discussed during our sessions is confidential and private.
The mental health profession has a code of ethics that prohibits the disclosure of information from cases.
Furthermore, the request for psychotherapy must be made by the person concerned and only by them.
Breach of confidentiality is permitted by the code of ethics only if the life of the patient or third parties is threatened and following a relevant written request from the judicial authorities.
In the event of a breach of confidentiality to protect life, the Psychotherapist/Psychologist shall only share the absolutely necessary information with the competent authorities after communicating with the patient.
2. Frequency of sessions:

Once a week, at the same time and day as agreed.

Weekly sessions are necessary, especially during the initial period of the therapeutic relationship, as they help to consolidate the therapeutic relationship and the progress of the treatment.

It is very important to be consistent in the frequency and commitment to this time on this specific day for the most effective progress of the therapy.

3. Cancellation policy:

Appointments cannot be canceled, except for very serious reasons.

If you need to cancel a session, you must notify us at least 48 hours in advance so that we can find another day and time during the same or following week to reschedule.

If you do not notify us 48 hours in advance, the session will be charged as normal.

In the rare event that one of us cancels a session, we will find a mutually convenient time to reschedule.

During psychotherapy, you may sometimes feel—without any objective reason—that you do not want to come to a session. It is important to stick to your commitment to attend so that we can discuss this issue, as it is useful.

4. Late arrival policy:

If you are late for your session, unfortunately we cannot extend the session time, so it is important to arrive 2-3 minutes early. This also applies to online sessions.

5. Holidays and public holidays:

If we need to be away, we will inform you as soon as possible.

For official holidays, Christmas, Easter, and summer vacations, you will be informed well in advance of the exact days when the office will be closed.

6. Closing and ending treatment:

Closing treatment is a very important part of the therapeutic process, so it is important to know about it well in advance in order to give it the necessary time and emphasis.

7. Session duration and cost:

The duration of an individual session is 50 minutes and costs €50.

Payment for sessions for patients who come to the office is made either by prepaying for the entire month at the beginning of each month electronically/in cash, or at the end of each session in cash.

For patients we work with online, payment is made either at the beginning of each month or individually before each session.

On the contact page, you can prepay for your session directly by card, while scheduling your appointment for the desired date and time.
